A Butterfly Party

"Love is like a butterfly:
It goes where it pleases and it pleases wherever it goes." -Unknown Author

What could be more perfect for a creeping, crawling one-year-old than a Butterfly party? We spent the entire morning decorating the house with card stock butterflies in pinks and purples. Yaks drew soldiers on his, and Boo opted for
every color in her marker box. Both lovely...and time consuming (win-win).

We used the "scraps" for more decorations.
Every inch of tape was put to decorating use.

Move over, Colin Cowie. Here comes Yaks!

Josh took off early from work, and got Diddles out of her crib from her afternoon nap.

I love their matching bed heads! It's party time.

I bought Diddles a few toys for birthday presents. I had them in a plastic bag in the trunk of the car (or so I thought). When it was time to wrap them, I couldn't find them anywhere! I secretly blamed Josh for throwing them out (sorry, Josh). So, we wrapped her one meager gift and were happy that she was only one, and didn't know the difference.

It's okay, Mom. I'll just play with this DI dolly you got me last month. :\

Just a tip: You CAN use applesauce in cake mix if you run out of oil. The texture isn't as moist, but it turns out pretty tasty (and more healthy)!

"Happy Birthday to YOU!"

Cupcakes: Simply delicious.

Wait a second. WHAT is WRONG with her?

The girl wanted ice cream. I know the feeling.

Then, in the middle of the night, I had a total epiphany as to where I put her presents! I woke up the next morning and found the bag in a Tupperware bin in a corner of the garage (right where it should be). And so began day 2 of our birthday celebrations.
The kids wrapped their little hearts out and used an entire roll of tape. Then they were so sweet to help Diddles unwrap her presents. But then the tides began to change. I noticed something strange happening. Whose toy is this, exactly?

"I'm just showing her how tuh do it."

"I'm just using these twisty ties to tie up Buzz."

"Yaks? Could I have a turn with my toy?"
"No, Didds! I'm doing it!"

"These three are mine, and these three are Yaks'."

Fortunately, she doesn't mind.

There's a lot to be happy about!

"Thanks for coming to my party!
See you next year. :)"

I love how the big kids want to play with the baby toys. And I especially like Buzz getting twisty tied! Awesome. So if Diddles is 1 does that really mean you guys have been in Idaho for almost a year too? Crazy how fast time flies!

I hope the outfit I sent fits her...sorry I made the clip backwards(opps..*sigh*). Abbs told me after I was all done.
