Hooray for the Thanksgiving Feast

It's that that time of year again!
Time for the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast!
Ah, good times.

Diddles was running out of steam and ready for a nap, as things didn't even get started until 1:15pm. But, we just pumped her full of snacks and trudged onward! You can do it, Morley! Oh, and look! I managed to get her to wear an elastic in her hair w/o her pulling it out! Baby steps. Baby steps.

The day before, the kids got to make their own mini pumpkin pies, clean out the turkey, make pattern headbands and turkey fan place-settings!

My favorite part of the entire event is the little songs that they sing! I've got them memorized.

Mrs. Stone has taught for over 20 years, and she knows what works and what doesn't. I tell you, having gone to this feast for two years now, this event runs like a well-oiled machine!

She's so well-organized, things just run, and she gets to take pictures, chat with families and give kids whipped-cream shots in their mouths! It horrified me the first year, but it's good holiday fun!

The kids line up with their classmates and their siblings. Behind Yaks is his good pal Tytan. Each of them have a "little sister".

Waiting patiently with their cute pattern headbands.

Being served by the awesome moms!

Yaks sampling his pumpkin pie!

We even got to meet his good friend, Peter! I love his headband. Check out those multi-colored feathers!

Ah! It won't let me load the end of this video with the word "YEAR" sung out long and loud and off-key! Best part of the song, second only to the awkward hugs. Those are awesome! Check out Diddles on the lower left! Boo, upon seeing this video said, "Yaks! Do you see my lunch table? Do you see it? I sit riiiiiiight THERE." Thanks, Boo. :)

Hooray for Thanksgiving!

That looks so fun. I'm glad that some things never change. I think it is the responsibility of the oldest child to make everything about them, right? ;)

Wow. I didn't realize that your kids are just one year apart in school. How fun for you!
