Award for Special Services

These kids have been so great in helping me out these past few weeks! I felt they deserved a special post.  Having kids who are a little bit older and independent has been such a treat, I have to say. I'm getting a little more limited in my mobility and energy and Yaks and Boo have seemed to have sensed the need and stepped up their game to help out around here.  I pray it continues!

Today they helped me fold and put away three loads of laundry. They play well together (not perfect, but well), and can entertain themselves for long periods of time.  Lately nothing discourages me more than to see a messy FLOOR, knowing what a chore it is to bend over and pick everything up!  We implemented a little game I like to call "pick everything up off the floor" game. They simply run around and put everything up to a level where I don't have to bend over to reach it! Nice.

Boo went grocery shopping with me on Saturday and pushed the cart and put the food onto the belt. The cashier asked if she was looking for a job - she was fast and efficient. When we got back into the car, I thanked her for being such a great helper and coming with me shopping. She said, "Yur welcome. I just fought I would come along wiff you and help you wiff anything you may need." Blink-blink (crickets chirping)

Boo - Ready to Serve (The pearl necklace is an especially nice touch, wouldn't you agree?)

They've been into playing "Restaurant" lately, which consists of them inviting me downstairs and seating me in front of a plastic tupperware tub. Once seated at the table, they hand me a pretend menu and wait on me hand and foot, filling my plate with plastic food. Not bad, eh? When I asked what this fine establishment was called, they said, "Megan's Restaurant" (Salt City Burger Co.) . Too cute. This was my lunch one day.

The service is extraordinary! I give it four stars!

Way to go kids! They have grown up so fast. They will grow up even more the day you bring that baby home.

Good kids!
Hope they continue to help
...especially with picking up the floor even when the belly is gone.

I have a feeling you wont have any problems when the baby comes! Its amazing how kids can sometimes just step up to the plate. Definitely answers to prayers I say!erling

Wow, reading this made me miss you guys. I just wanted to thank you for the sweet care package you brought us before we headed out to Philly. I can tell you are an experienced Mom because everything you brought was perfect. I can't tell you how many times I blessed your name as I pulled out a coloring book, or juice box, or animal crackers. You are the best friends ever. We would love to entertain you in Philly sometime! Good luck with everything as you get closer to your new arrival.
