Growing up, St. Patrick's Day meant we were having Corned Beef and cabbage for dinner, and that we'd assuredly watch Disney's Darby O'Gill and the Little People. Have you seen it? It's a classic, and I haven't seen it in forever. Fortunately, it's on You Tube. Remember that part with the drunken Leprechauns dancing in their little Leprechaun lair?
I remember poor Cath used to be terrified of lots of things: Strangers, acquaintances, grandparents, dogs, wolves, and this clip from the movie:
She would run away, screaming in terror when we watched it. We would sometimes have one sibling make the sound out in the kitchen, and then pretend it was the Banshee outside of our house coming for her. How mean! Sorry, Cath, that was horrible of us. The siblings of James on up all owe her an apology.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I vaguely remember watching this a REALLY long time ago but I don't remember what happens. Now I have to go to the library and see if they have it.
Never seen it...probably comes from living in a house of scared girls.
I hope that Catherine somehow misses this post so she won't have to relive it (well, I guess hearing the apology would be good!).
My daughter Kristy posted for St. Patrick's Day too - only she combined the movie with pistachio pudding.

Fun traditions, even if it is scary.
holy crap Amy! that was scary! I will not be showing that to my faint hearted Ethan, mostly because he will be the one throwing a lantern and catching the house on fire!
