Runned Out of Hair

Yaks has discovered a great equalizer when it comes to problem solving with his sister. The hair pull. It's a dirty move, but it does the trick to prevent his sister from squashing him. We've talked at length about it being not only painful and unkind, but my fear that Boo won't have any more hair if he pulls it out. Of all of those reasons, this one stuck with him the most. We can run out of hair. They've discussed it together at length and it went something like this:

Boo: "Yaks, don't pull hair, okay? We're not supposed to pull hair."
Yaks: "Yeah, I not sthuppost to."
Boo: "'Cause if we pull hair, I will runned out of hair and won't
have anymore hair and that would be SO SAD for me!"
Yaks: "Oooo-kay."

I mentioned to Yaks his need for a haircut several days ago
, to which he replied that he didn't need one, that his hair was just fine and if he got a haircut, he would "runned out of hair."

Boo was helpful and quickly volunteered that she had "extra" hair. I thought she meant because he hair was longer, she would share some with him. Sweet, I
thought. Then she offered to show it to him, and led him to her closet. I wasn't sure what that was all about, so I followed them into her room. She slid her closet door open to reveal a long, blond Halloween wig that's hung up in there. haha! Good to know at least we have some hair storage should we need any in a, you know, "emergency".

Off to Cookie Cutters we went
because I'm still too chicken to attempt to cut their hair myself because haircuts are fun there!

Doesn't he look so handsome?

Mikey LOVES LOVES LOVES to pull Tori's hair. I think he likes that more than biting her. trying to reason with a 15 month old hair pulling teeth biting monster is a challenge. Mikey loves the power that he has over her to do whatever he would like her to do. Aren't sibling relationships fun?

It was great to meet your kids last weekend. They are super cute

Yaks does look handsome.

I recently started cutting my little guy's hair and it is totally nerve-wracking! Every time I do it, I think I'm going to pass out from the stress. I figure since his hair is just coming in, hopefully people will think it's growing in uneven rather than what is usually is: a bad cut!

I love the haircut! The style is very handsome too. He looks like a little version of Josh with blonde hair :)

Cute cute sibling love! I want to know how he sits still for a haircut? I still have a certain 4 1/2 year old that sweats himself into a tizzy simply from "hearing" the wrong set of clippers. UGH!

Laurie - we battled biting for a time as well. Hopefully this too shall pass.

Trish - I hate cutting it! I tried ONCE to cut Josh's, and it was too stressful on our marriage, if you know what I mean. I just need to bite the bullet and learn, though. It saves so much money!

Kari - Have you tried letting him touch the clippers? That helped w/ ours, as well as having a sucker and his favorite movie playing to distract him.

I cut Jared's hair ONCE. It was too stressful on our marriage. It is worth it to me to pay for it. A couple of months ago he asked me to try again...NO WAY! I know where my talents are, and where they are not. Hair cutting is not a talent even a hidden talent.

I cut Mikey's hair in August it is just now starting to grow back..It was pretty bad
