Aminals

You heard it right. We've been all about "aminals" lately. The kids have taken a liking to the stuffed dogs that have been collecting dust in our basement, and have started taking them on walks with Boo's necklaces serving as leashes, and cramming them into confined spaces for their "naps". I asked them what their doggies' names were, to which they each replied, "Scout" (my mom's dog). My, how...original!

Friday we were able to go down to Thanksgiving Point to the Farm Country to look at the farm animals with several of our neighborhood mom friends and their kids. The kids loved it. I think all the moms wanted naps more than the kids by the end of it! I know I did.

This is a nice photo of the garbage can! haha.
The kids loved feeding the animals corn.
Wouldn't it be nice if we had a dispenser like this at home for kids' snacks?

This llama took a liking to little Yaks, and even let us pet her.
Llamas have such sweet eyes.

He adored these goats and was talking to them in a baby voice, "Be, be, be, goats!"
Does anyone know why goats have those odd slitted eyes?
What purpose do they serve?
Several of us were wondering.

And the biggest news is that Boo rode on the pony!
I didn't think she would, but when I asked she said,
"Yeah! I want that purple one!" (purple bridle)

Yaks: "Tell me when it's over..."
I caught him mid-blink.

Finally yesterday after work we picked up Josh and went over to the Pet Smart Adoption Fair going on this weekend. We had no intention of adopting, but it was fun to look around at the kitties and dogs. I had a large dog totally jump on me while it was being walked by it's potential owner. Yikes! Glad it was me and not one of the kids! Thanks Aminals for a fun time!

We have "aminals" that Owen doesn't play with--this gives me hope that they one day be useful! I also wish there was a dispenser for kids' snacks.

Great adventure. Matt was just saying a few days ago that he wants to take the girls down to Thanksgiving Point. We went a few years ago and Meg rode the pony and loved it. I'm thinking we probably couldn't get Paige off! I'm glad both your kids got one and had a good time. Fun pictures!

Have you guys read the "Llama Llama" books? Might be fun having just seen a few. My kids are really into them right now.

Trish - I haven't heard of those, though I seem to remember you mentioning your kids liking them. I'll have to check those out! Thanks!

Great animal adventures! We often go to Pets Mart to get our animal fill. It's a nice alternative to a pet! :) Have you guys read "Is Your Mama a Llama?" Cute book. And finally.... hooray for both of your brave kids riding the pony by themselves! That's awesome!
