Every Girl Can Be A Princess

They didn't have fun stuff like Disney Princesses on Ice when I was growing up, and if they did, I never knew about it. Thanks to a business associate of JB's, we scored four free tickets to see Disney Princesses on Ice on Friday.

Boo doesn't have a "princess dress", so she chose what she deemed to be the closest thing in her closet. We fixed her hair and she picked a pink hair ribbon as her only accessory (less is more, I say). Too cute. The show started at 7:30, so we were a little nervous about the late hour, but the kids held up well and we all enjoyed ourselves. The show kicked off with Aladdin, followed by Snow White, then Ariel, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty and finally, Cinderella.
Boo had this expression of awe and wonder the entire time. She would clap when the audience clapped, and shoot me shy smiles every now and again, exclaiming "There's so-and-so", announcing whomever appeared on the ice.

JB and Yaks took off after intermission and went over to the Gateway for some GUY TIME. I think they got a caramel apple to share - hold the poison, please.

The fire-breathing dragon in Sleeping Beauty!

Cinderella and her golden carriage

Belle and "You-Mir"

Ariel and Flounder

Some funny moments were the 9-year-old BOY who was there, enjoying himself amidst all the girls - his princely crown atop his head. Little girls who had obviously gone to the salon before coming to the event - complete with fake nails, up-dos, makeup and custom-made costumes with their high-maintenance moms to match. YIKES. JB who asked the Dad behind us if we were blocking his view to which he replied grumpily, "I wish you would block my view." The little trinkets and icee drinks for sale that ranged in price from $10-$22. You have GOT to be kidding me!? Finally, the pink limousine that someone rented, waiting outside the venue that said, "GET YOUR GIRL ON" on the side of it. Too funny.

Looks like you had a fun time! Thanks goodness for Josh's connections! I'm glad the kids held up good for you.

Jane's pink bow looks perfect. The other stories do seem completely OVERBOARD.

I have had several friends telling me that they have gone to the show this past week...to which Matt continues to claim "There is NO WAY I would sit through that!"
