Bowlers

We picked up JB from work last night and went over to the student union building at the U to go bowling. Boo absolutely LOVES to bowl. She requests it at least once a week. We sometimes go to The Skybox to play the little bowling arcade game there. Whenever we are out driving around town, she'll always offer the suggestion, "Bowling's open!" as though we've asked her, "So, what do you think we should do tonight?"

We changed our shoes and chose the lightest-weight and prettiest bowling balls we could find and were on a roll! They have a little "helper ramp" that allows you to simply place the ball and push. It rolls down the ramp, giving it enough speed to make it down the alley to the pins. Boo would say, "One....two...three...bowlers!"

Yaks wasn't as interested in it, and tried several times to walk right down the lane and take care of business face-to-pin. Fortunately, there were lots of other families with kids there last night, so we were able to enjoy a good time, while not having to worry about disturbing "more serious" bowlers in the neighboring lanes.

A nice, dark, blurry picture of JB helping Yaks push his ball down the lane.

So, if you're looking for something to do this holiday (now that Christmas is over and the parties are thinning out), try bowling! Boo would be happy to give you some tips. Try counting to three and then say "BOWLERS!" It worked for her.
