FHE Idea: Follow the Prophet

I always thought it would be fun to have an FHE lesson library. You could check out a ziplock bag that has the lesson, songs, pictures, scripture, and little cut-outs all done for you, and you just have to adapt it to your "audience". They could keep them at the church library and each family could make one or two to share! Wouldn't that be helpful?

I was just planning FHE for tonight and wanted to pass this along. With General Conference coming up, I thought having a little lesson about following the prophet would be appropriate. I found this little The Friend article that had some fun activities and ideas. We're going to talk about the Prophet Noah, review the story and show them the pictures from the GAK, as well as a picture of President Hinckley. I printed out the picture below and cut out the animals for the kids to help load up in the ark. I hope works smoothly. You never know. ;)

This lesson worked really well! I actually hid two or three animals in each room, so the kids could get up, move around and "collect" the animals into the ark. We even got Boo to recognize President Hinckley by and remember his name.

Wow, that is cool. We made a puppet show out of them. I glued them to sticks and got an empty box to cut up for a stage. As Dave read from the Bible we acted out the puppet show. I would be happy if every Monday you would share your FHE plan for the night so that I wouldn't have to think. :)
