Bye Bye, Braces!

What a transformation!  Here is Boo in 1st grade.  Lots of crooked teeth, and big gaps.  She got her braces on last February.  Each visit she got to pick what colors the brackets (?) were, and it was always a fun surprise to see what she chose.

Before

Today was the great removal day!  She was pretty excited.

After!
The orthodontist Dr. Pickard, is in our Stake Presidency.  Each patient who gets their braces removed, gets this wonderful candy "cake", with all the sticky things they weren't technically supposed to be eating while wearing braces. (uh-hum)

The whole office comes in and sings this little song to the tune of "The Ants go Marching"

"You got your braces off today, hoo rah! hoo rah!
You got your braces off today, hoo rah!  Hoo rah!
You got your braces off today, so now it's time to celebrate,
cause you got your braces off...off...off!"

The long-awaited Candy "cake"!
Her teeth look great! She went home with a retainer she has to wear "as much as possible".  She'll have another round of braces in a few years.  Just in time for the awkward teens.  Awesome!

Hey daughter looks pretty and cute. She really seems happy in the last 3 pictures, and wouldn't she be what a change.
How long did she put them on? Was it 6 months braces or ordinary ones? My younger sister wants to put braces but she is afraid it will hurt. Maybe I should show this photo of your smiling daughter and she would feel better.

Wow, what a makeover! She looks a lot prettier with the braces off. Don’t get me wrong, I know she’s always been stunning, but her beautiful smile was pretty much more emphasized without the braces blocking it. Cheers!

Wow! That is really a huge transformation. Boo must be really happy to finally have her braces off. Her brand new smile looks very adorable. It's nice of her orthodontist to give her that plate of candy, because she definitely deserves it. Thanks for sharing that! All the best to your family! :)
