One Year

This past weekend marks our one-year anniversary here! I looked back at our calendar this time last year, and it's amazing all of the things we crammed into those short weeks between when Josh was offered the job to when we left our "brown-wall house"(Josh painted an accent wall in the front room brown, and the kids have called it that ever since) for the last time. What a whirlwind adventure! Come to think of it, in the year 2009, we had one of the following in our family:

A birth:

A death:

A wedding:

A new job:

A move:
If someone sat me down last year and said, "Okay, you're going to have a beautiful baby girl, and the day you are released from the hospital, your husband will be offered a new job. Three weeks later, you'll pack up your three-week-old baby and hop a plane to your future town and look for a place to live. Three weeks after that, you'll pack up your kids and all of your earthly possessions and move away from all your pals and family." I would have said you're talking crazy!

A year later, and I feel settled. I know my way around. We have our favorite spots to shop and eat. We've made some great friends, and I'm getting better at putting names with faces. Sure, there are things we miss and things we don't enjoy so much, but all-in-all, it's been a good thing for our family, and I feel really blessed. I'm looking forward to another year...Perhaps one not so "eventful". :)

It sounds like it was the right thing for your family. That is always a good feeling when you realize you made the right choice. I'm just glad we have the ability to stay in touch this way though.

That does sound busy! I'm glad you came to Pullman! Your family is a great addition to our ward and I like being friends with you. =)

Isn't it amazing the things we can do?

Isn't it amazing how things just "work out." I think we set our limits and often tell ourselves we can only handle so much, and then of course you exceed them tenfold! Then time passes, and you look back amazed by everything you were able to accomplish... and then as more time passes, you say "that was an awesome year."

I feel like our past year has been similarly eventful! I'm glad that you guys have settled well. Hopefully we'll get to see you guys again the next time you visit Utah!
