Aunt Abby invited the kids to join her music camp she runs during the summer. The kids learn all about musical instruments and singing. Today was the last day and they had such a great time! Boo especially seemed to enjoy the activities and the structure and the singing (she's going to love Kindergarten!). I wish I had remembered my video camera and I could have captured their little performance this morning for the parents. I had to settle for some camera phone shots.
Here's Abby. Getting the kids all ready to sing. The girl is a natural teacher!
Yaks has been weathering some seasonal allergies and had a really rough night last night. He's sleeping off his 4am wake up as I type. I did interview Boo to get her take on the class. Here's what she had to say:
What was your favorite part of music camp?
Boo: I liked making instruments. (They made sand blocks, tambourines and egg shakers)
Boo: I liked making instruments. (They made sand blocks, tambourines and egg shakers)
What was your favorite instrument to make?
Boo: Tambourine – it starts with T, Mom. Put a T on it! (the kids decorated paper plate tambourines with bells attached.)
What was your favorite song that you sang?
Boo: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
I...love...YOU! (melts my heart)
"I love you in the morning and in the afternoon..."
I have no idea what Yaks is doing.
What was your favorite musical guest? (They had a cellist, a flautist and a violinist come and share their instruments and talents)
Boo: Violin – v, v, it starts with a V! And a U! <= (oh, my) My other sister-in-law Angie was the guest violinist today!
Mesmerized kids listening to Angie play the violin
We singed, play instruments, ate snack. We blowed up a circle and then we pick a stick out of the jar and then we choose an instrument.
What was your favorite instrument to play?
That blue drum where we tap on it, with the sun on it.
What friends were there?
Um, Millie (Boo loved Millie and managed to worm her way to sit next to her whenever possible) was there and Ethan…and who were those two boys names?
What’s your favorite thing about Abby?
When she plays the instruments.
Thanks for letting us "play", Abby! The kids had a great time!

Oh, that's so fun. Cute kids!
Amy, I didn't know I was on your blog? Just thinking that is the most attentive I've seen my kids look at me in weeks! That's cute that Jane really liked Millie. She is my friend Jen's little girl and I think she is adorable.
