Where You Lay Your Head

My brother-in-law, Isaac was notorious for falling asleep in strange places when he was young. The funniest one I heard was when they found him asleep across three kitchen chairs, tucked under the table. I've always been a bed sleeper myself, and I'm not sure why (if given the chance) people would choose to sleep elsewhere.

It appears little Yaks has taken Isaac's view of things and has enjoyed several alternative sleeping arrangements. A month or so ago, I went to check on him after tucking him in for the fifth time, and he wasn't in his room! I looked downstairs and behind couches, listening for the sounds of wandering, but the house was totally silent! I decided to check his room one more time before I hit the panic button and started screaming his name. On my way out of his room for the second time, I spotted him.

In the closet

The kids have been using laundry baskets for a variety of purposes lately: boats, cages, small tables, etc. I went to check on Yaks several minutes after tucking him in for his nap, and found him here:

Baby Moses

His little legs were all scrunched up, a sippy cup resting in between his legs. He had even managed to cram a few story books in there!

This falling asleep anywhere and everywhere runs in the genes (the Paulsen ones). A couple of weeks ago Ethan fell alseep laying on the bathroom floor. I have a couple interesting sleep stories myself. Checkout my last weeks notes on facebook and you'll see. Glad to see the habit moving to new generations. So cute!

I don't uderstand it either. Especially a laundry basket! Doesn't look to cozy on the neck. Ethan was my creative sleeper. I would panic and find him asleep under his bed, wrapped in a pile of dirty laundry, and once behind the door to his room so I couldn't open it. I was afraid he was dead so I heaved it open and moved him to his bed.

Great places!
I'm glad that you found him before the panic really set in.
I guess in the end if they get the needed rest, and you get the needed quiet-time it's o.k. right!

Oh, those pictures are hilarious. Yaks is going to love seeing those one day when he's all grown up.

Laundry baskets are always a pull for kids (and cats, by the way). Those pictures are so funny. I have always been a bed sleeper too, much to my mom's annoyance, even as a baby. You can imagine how fun our road trips were. I guess what it comes down to is this: now you have a really great excuse for not catching up on that laundry pile!

That sounds all too familar. I used to love sleeping in the closet... I can remember thinking of how it was my own little room. Love the pictures :)
