It's cold here today. Upper 20's for the high. We went to Salt Lake today to pick up a few Christmas items. Whenever we drive to Salt Lake, we get a nice view of this out our car window:

The refinery. Moments after we see it, we sometimes smell it. Isn't it lovely? They've made attempts to beautify it by placing a Christmas star atop the tallest smokestack. It
almost helps.
Today while driving, the stacks were putting out some puffy white smoke.

"Mom? Is that where they make more clouds?"

even with the star I am sure that the place still stinks. Every time we go to Layton we smell it too
I love Boo's question. I want to know how you answered that though. Bountiful does have the unique experience of being able to produce two very awful aromas simultaneously: the refinery smell mixed with the Great Salt Lake stink is a killer combination! It is a good thing Bountiful is such a great place to live in spite of that.
Jane is so funny. Cloud making machines sound so much more fun and magical. Some days I wish I were a kid again. I'm glad you've returned to blogging.
Dianna, I think I said something like, "Maybe it does make more clouds..." (I so hate to toss out her clever ideas) Then I said, "You know how when we are outside when it's so so cold outside, our breath sometimes looks like white clouds? It's kinda like that." I didn't get too deep - she wouldn't get in anyway, you know?
