Last night, as we were heading out to the swimming pool for some birthday family fun, I packed our camera in the pool bag, determined to get a little family picture for Boo's birthday. The doors were locked, so I leaned the bag up against the car and went inside for a minute. Josh loaded the kids, started the car and pulled out of the garage. He came in and told me he had rolled over the bag with the front tires. My immediate thought was, "The camera"! I hoped for the best and decided to check it out once we got to the pool. Sure enough, the buttons were shoved inside of the camera, the entire body of the camera is crooked, and we get a nice blue screen that says, "System Error" when we turn it on. Totally my own fault. I'm still kicking myself 12 hours later, and with no money in our budget to purchase a new camera(honestly, does anyone have money in their budgets to buy a new camera?) , it looks like we'll be picture-less for some time.
Shoot.

you know, i've never been a big believer in 'service plans' on cameras--i go through them too fast, and want to upgrade anyway. for some reason (divine intervention?)i bought the plan on my last camera. best thing i ever did, as i had only had it for 2 1/2 months before it took a little swim in the virgin river. it couldn't be fixed, so i got a credit in the same amount i paid for the camera (even though it has come down $50)and promptly used that credit to upgrade the model:) short story long, when you do get around to it again, i'm recommending the service plan (if it's best buy, make sure it's the 'ACCIDENTAL' service plan.
Oh no. That is awful! Maybe Christmas? Maybe your camera phone can fill in until then?
So sorry to hear it.
That sounds so much like something I would do. I'm sorry that happened. I hope you find a way to get a new one soon. :)
That so sucks! Maybe you could pick up a couple disposables to keep at the house until you can replace it. That way you'll have an option if you need it.
How terribly unlucky. Sorry about that.
I'm sooo sorry about your camera... that's the worst feeling. I actually know how it kinda feels... as you know I lost our camera in disneyworld... we were pictureless for 3 months. And currently we have no camera because I left it back in Salt Lake. I hope Jane had a good birthday. I miss you guys.
BUMMER! I am so sorry about that! Don't kick yourself too hard, cause kicking can hurt almost as much as ruining one's camera! :)
