One More Reunion, Then I Promise I'm Done!

"Hi Eveybody!"

One of the joys and challenges of coming from rather large families is that when reunions happen, it seems like a whole lot of reunions! Reunions for the immediate families, the extended families on the maternal side, the paternal side, etc. They all managed to happen in the month of August, so I apologize for the plethora of reunion updates!

My Aunt Janet (my Dad's sister) lives out in Erda, a lovely small town where they own a beautiful home with horse property. Janet has always loved (and owned) horses, and is very generous to always let us enjoy them when we come to visit. We had our Hale Family reunion on Saturday. We enjoyed a yummy dinner and caught up with the cousins and their children. We were fewer in number this year, but it was a nice chance to visit a little more with the people who were there.

Cousin David and my Dad, discussing gardening tips.

Cousin-in-law Michelle (married to David), Cousin Kathryn, Cousin Dana

Boo, Emily, Zek and Yaks
The kids quickly migrated towards the dogs, of which there are always plenty!
This is Zek, and he loves to fetch rocks - every child's dream, to be able to throw rocks and have them returned to you!

Tim riding Reno. Little did we know, he was "a little intimidated by the beast."

And my favorite of all were the pony cart rides! This is a new feature this year. This little pony's name is Faith, and Janet actually uses on of those little fly switches with commands like, "Ride on" and "Trot". I felt so old-fashioned and proper riding in this little cart. Like I should have been wearing something Jane Austen-y and discussing the weather.

Doesn't it look like fun? What little child wouldn't love this?

Even my Dad, who never rides horses was eager to take a spin!

See y'all next year!

What fun! That cart does look proper and Jane Austin-ish(maybe not so much with the kids in tote, though)!
