Instead of boring you with a long and drawn out travelogue of this past week, I thought I would highlight the trip in fours.
Four Favorite Moments
1.) Watching the next generation of kids play in the sand and water with their aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pretty cool when you think about it.
2.) Hearing the belly laughs of my siblings while reminiscing at the Family Olympics.
3.) Being all together in the temple.
4.) Enjoying a "famous" raspberry shake with Josh after the kids were put to bed.
Four Lessons Learned
1.) Although it's all in the name of good family fun, DO NOT make your kids skip their naps. It's simply the worst idea EVER, and you will pay for it for DAYS.
2.) Don't let Yaks out of your sight. He will wander to the neighboring condo and rearrange the patio sculptures of the lady next door (who resides there year-round). Try as you might to put it back the way it was, she's already seen him. This note will be posted outside her door w/in the hour: "These are fun to LOOK at, but DO NOT touch!"
3.) Lower your expectations for family "vacations". They will not be a vacation for the parents. You will spend the majority of your time brushing off feet, changing diapers, fixing meals and listening to a whole lot of whining (see #1).
4.) Don't smash a bug inside the car against your front windshield. It will crack.
Four Favorite Pictures
Emily, Tim & Marie in the tube - When in doubt, Pinkies OUT! Special thanks again to Annette and Stewart who brought the boat up for us to use for the day. It was awesome!
Family Picture - Peter & Catherine's Wedding Day. We're growing!

1. Love Feist! The original version of her song was also an iPod commercial, which I also loved.
2. Skipping naptime is the WORST! And I think the definition of vacation changed when we had kids.
3. Love the family pictures. You look fab and I love the outfit.
4. The next door neighbor most definitely needs to chill.
So glad that you are back and that you had a good time.
What a great way to summarize. The picked pictures sure make it look like a fun time...even if it wasn't much a break for you parents.
Thanks for posting Sesame Street. It was a sad sad day at my house when my kids outgrew those cool shows. Thanks for posting your family picture, too. You are growing!

I think you should blow up the picture of that little "note" from the neighbor and use it for those special times when you need a good laugh! The family wedding pictures are beautiful...the newlyweds are so perfectly matched..nice looking couple. So glad you got a SHAKE and enjoyed it. I enjoyed hearing all about it! xo
So glad to get your update. I've been clicking and clicking, just waiting to hear how it went.
I hear ya on the vacation rules, sista! I was just lamenting the loss of being able to relax on vacations with a friend a few hours ago. (Unless you go without your kids, which we do frequently.)
The new couple does look amazing together, as do you in your brown outfit. Wowza!
