I have friends who say it is their favorite book, but I say, "To each his own." I loved Jane Eyre, though.Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18107089754335917061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560480783927243898.post-8698206927916411162008-07-12T10:29:00.000-06:002008-07-12T10:29:00.000-06:00Ah, so true, Tiffany! It's funny sometimes how even bizzare fiction can come so close to reality.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01677953607599406624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560480783927243898.post-69935252713702517132008-07-11T12:04:00.000-06:002008-07-11T12:04:00.000-06:00I agree with Lauren about the idea of Heathcliff a...I agree with Lauren about the idea of Heathcliff as a romantic hero. He's a broken person and they never make good mates as empathetic as they are. Sadly, I have seen this in real life where there are two people who love each other, but they have stuff in the way and can't make it together. I find the book to be really realistic in some ways as only fiction can show the picture sometimes.. if you know what I mean. :)love.boxeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02450621259116289517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560480783927243898.post-13490730382521619062008-07-10T20:35:00.000-06:002008-07-10T20:35:00.000-06:00I also missed this book through school. The same friend who recommended Jane Eyre to me also LOVES Heights...but it seems too dark for me. If you are saying it is depressing and one that you have to think hard about I may hold off.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01349888995330670135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560480783927243898.post-37543938364220864242008-07-10T18:28:00.000-06:002008-07-10T18:28:00.000-06:00I was a little disappointed by the Heights. I'm glad that I read it, but it definitely didn't make it on my list of classics to read again.laurenthequeenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05349639307628683507noreply@blogger.com
